BGF OPENS NEW CUPAR HUB OFFICE

Business Gateway Fife (BGF) has opened a hub office in Cupar supporting our operations across Fife.

From our new hub, BGF have already advised our first client – East Neuk Glass. The bespoke stained glass design business was seeking Create in Fife funding to help with the purchase of equipment, including a kiln. 

The Create in Fife Fund provides financial support (50% contribution up to a maximum of £1,500) to creative businesses on a range of projects as well as help with the purchase of capital equipment.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS IN EAST OF SCOTLAND

Further £1M for East of Scotland Investment Fund

 

A further 25 businesses are to benefit from a £1m extension to the East Scotland Investment Fund (ESIF) by March 2015.  ESIF, launched as a £5m investment fund in 2011, has already assisted more than 60 companies and safeguarded or created around 1000 jobs.

Led by Fife Council, the latest extension has been secured from the European Regional Development Fund to support the creation of new jobs and new market opportunities for small to medium sized companies.

NEW INITIATIVE LAUNCHED TO PROMOTE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN FIFE

Fife council has launched a new initiative to support youth enterprise and employability, by providing access to key information which can help pupils and school leavers discover the right career path and gain the right enterprise skills they require to get into work.    The campaign, entitled “Your Future’s Unlimited – Just Go For It,” was unveiled yesterday (Tuesday 1st October) by Kenneth Greer, Fife Council’s Executive Director for Education, at an event at the new Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes.

Fife Businesses Urged To Claim Thousands in Tax Credits

Fife business owners were urged to claims thousands of pounds rightfully owed to them through the governments Research and Development tax credit scheme at a seminar hosted by Business Gateway Fife last week.

 

 At the seminar, Brian Williamson from Jumpstart, one of the UK’s leading experts in the scheme, shared their experience and gave an insight into how many businesses are taking full advantage and are able to claim back thousands of pounds.

Liberty Business Centres has launched their Acorn Enterprise Initiative to help businesses under 12 months old get off the ground with an incredible package which includes 18 weeks free rent plus free entrepreneurial events to provide real practical advice.
