Edinburgh Airport Community Fund To Return £100,000 For Local Communities

Edinburgh Airport will make £100,000 available for local community groups and charities as it reintroduces its Community Fund.

The funding will be available throughout 2022 and ensures local communities benefit from the airport’s activities and hoped recovery.

Applications will be considered from groups across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk that are impacted by our operations, with a cap of £7000 on applications.

A long-established general store in the East Neuk village of Crail has been totally transformed by new owners Joanne and Iain Stewart and given a new lease of life as an eco-friendly café and gift shop, offering visitors local arts and crafts along with speciality coffee, light lunches and home baking and locally produced ice cream.

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is working with ekosgen to develop a Digital Economy Skills Action Plan (DESAP).

Recognising that the need for digital skills cuts across all sectors, the DESAP will take a whole economy approach, examining commonality in the digital economy skills requirements across sectors.

Horisk-developed platform helped maintain rigour of Crown Estate Scotland wind farm bid process and make progress towards Scotland’s net zero targets

Fife web consultancy Horisk Leslie Development has helped Crown Estate Scotland (CES) take a big step towards achieving Scotland’s net zero targets by developing the ScotWind Evaluation Platform website used to score bids to lease areas of Scotland’s seabed for offshore wind farms.
 
In December 2020 the Cupar firm won the tender process to develop the platform to allow CES to score and analyse the bids because of its record for delivering secure business critical tools for public sector organisations.
