Former City Link Building Gets New Lease of Life

After nearly a year of lying empty having seen its former occupants go into administration the former City Link depot in Glenrothes is to be given a new lease of life.

The 31,952sq ft industrial unit at Bankhead Roundabout, which saw hundreds of Fife workers made redundant on Christmas Day last year, has been put on the market by property and storage specialist Fife Group in a move the firm says could reverse the hand of fate and create new jobs in the town.

New Conference Centre Launched at Vine Venue

Wednesday 7th October saw the launch of a brand new website, new logo and a new conference room at the Vine Conference Centre in Dunfermline.

Over 45 local business owners attended the official opening of the Pentland Room, which saw Janet Torley from the Federation of Small Business cut the ribbon to open the room, with manager of the Vine Conference Centre, Tim Thomson, also in attendance.

Following the opening the attendees were treated to a talk on 'Making Excellence a National Characteristic of Scotland' from the new CEO of Quality Scotland, Claire Ford.

Fife Chamber of Commerce Launch New International Trade Courses

Fife Chamber of Commerce is delighted to launch their new International Trade Courses which are part of a British Chambers of Commerce National Training Programme for exporters.

Delegates will have the opportunity to complete a test paper at the end the course which is marked externally and the candidate will receive a BCC accredited certificate.  If you choose to complete all 5 courses you will gain a Foundation Award in International Trade.

Fife Firm Invests in Skills of Workforce

Employer Identifies Staff Training as Business Priority

A Fife engineering firm improved the skills of its workforce after using a business consultancy service offered by Skills Development Scotland and Investors in People.
Glenrothes-based Fife Fabrications (FiFab) made use of the Skills for Growth initiative to identify priorities for development. The initiative helped the firm, which employs 128 people, find growth potential through providing training in management and leadership and in using Excel spreadsheets.
