The Carnegie UK Trust launched the TestTown 2014 programme in Manchester on 6 March. TestTown offers innovative young people the chance to test out great business ideas for real in a town centre environment. TestTown aims to give young people invaluable insight into running a business and the chance to win £10,000 start-up funding.
Following the success of the 2013 pilot held in Dunfermline, TestTown is taking place across the country this year. Six TestTown Local ‘heats’ will build up to the Grand Final and will engage young people from all over the UK and Ireland. Applications are open until 16 April.
Who can apply?
TestTown is open to individuals or groups of up to 4 people aged 16-30, who live in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. Anyone with a good idea and the motivation to make it happen can apply. Young people choose which of the 6 TestTown locations they want to go to and all travel and accommodation is provided.
We would like as many aspiring entrepreneurs as possible to apply for TestTown. Go to www.testtown.org.uk for more information.
